With more than 1.5 million merchants on Uber Eats - across more than 11,000 cities and six continents - we're constantly innovating to build new products and features to help restaurants, grocers, and retailers grow their businesses and boost earnings.
In 2024 alone, hundreds of thousands of U.S. restaurants and retailers used Uber Eats to generate additional income - contributing to economic growth in communities nationwide. Today, we're releasing our 2025 Merchant Impact Report, offering insights into what matters most to our merchant partners and how Uber Eats helps support their growth.
Merchants choose Uber Eats to reach new customers and grow their revenue. They've also asked for tools that make daily operations simpler, and we're committed to taking that feedback to heart. Now, we're rolling out new features powered by AI, real-time communication, and community-driven content to support merchants in their long-term success. Here's what's coming:
AI Tools
Merchants are already seeing the benefits of AI, with 78% of those who use AI tools saying they're effective. Now, we're introducing a suite of new AI features to help restaurants analyze customer reviews, auto-fill menu descriptions, and enhance food photos:
User Generated Content
We know customers are more likely to order a dish when they can see what it looks like - so we're introducing a new feature that invites Uber Eats users to snap a photo of their delivery if the item doesn't yet have a menu image. And in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K., customers may receive Uber Cash for select dishes if their photo is published. In the U.S., customers can get $3 in UberCash! Just tap "Add Photos" on the rate order screen after your delivery to get started.
Live Order Chat
We're launching a new tool that lets merchants initiate chats directly with customers once an order has been received - helping to prevent issues before they arise. Live order chatcan help improve order accuracy by enabling real-time communication to confirm replacements for out-of-stock items, clarify special requests, and check in on dietary or allergy preferences.
With smarter, more intuitive tools shaped by merchant feedback, we're elevating the Uber Eats experience for both the businesses we serve and the communities they nourish.
