American Cruise Lines to Make First-Ever Port of Call Stop at Troy Marina This Sunday, June 15
A Milestone in Troy's Waterfront Revitalization and Local Economic Boost
TROY, NY - The City of Troy is proud to announce that American Cruise Lines will make its first-ever Port of Call stop at the Troy Downtown Marina this Sunday, June 15th, marking the beginning of 17 scheduled stops through the remainder of the season.
This historic partnership is the latest milestone in Troy's ongoing waterfront revitalization efforts and is expected to have a positive ripple effect on the local economy. With hundreds of visitors arriving by riverboat throughout the summer, the collaboration will bring increased foot traffic to downtown businesses, support local restaurants and shops, and give tourists the opportunity to explore everything Troy has to offer - from our rich history and vibrant arts scene to our diverse culinary options and unmatched riverfront views.
"This partnership with American Cruise Lines is a testament to how far we've come in transforming Troy's second-to-none waterfront into a regional destination," said Mayor Carmella Mantello. "It's about more than just docking a boat - it's about showcasing our city and creating lasting economic opportunity for our residents and small businesses. None of this would be possible without the work we've done to make our community safer, cleaner, and more welcoming."
Eric Dussault, Director of Port Development and Construction for American Cruise Lines said, "American Cruise Lines has been visiting Troy each fall since 2007 along our popular Hudson River cruises. This year marks the first time the company will also operate a full summer season of cruises in the region, with Troy now serving as the official embarkation city for our Hudson River itineraries that conclude in New York City. American's cruises will feature 17 stops in Troy, bringing over 1000 passengers to the region--allowing for a full day of exploration throughout the city as well as pre-cruise hotel stays."
"Seeing American Cruise Lines dock at the Troy Marina is a powerful sign of what's possible when a city believes in itself," said Olivia Clemente, Executive Director of the Downtown Troy BID. "This isn't just a stop on a river, it's an invitation into the energy, charm, and entrepreneurial spirit that defines Downtown Troy. We're excited to welcome cruise passengers to explore our shops, dine in our restaurants, and experience the best of what our city has to offer. Troy is a genuinely welcoming community, and I'm sure those traveling will remember the kindness of our shop owners as they're welcomed in with kindness and hospitality."
The arrival of American Cruise Lines is part of a broader strategy to activate Troy's waterfront and strengthen its role as a central hub for recreation, tourism, and economic development. The city has invested in infrastructure, beautification, and public safety improvements to ensure the Marina and its surrounding areas are ready to welcome guests from across the country.
