Call for Artists for 2026–2028 El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition

City of Palm Desert Opens Call for Artists for 2026-2028 El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition

The City of Palm Desert is inviting artists from across the United States to help shape the future of public art along one of Southern California's most celebrated cultural corridors. Submissions are now open for the El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition, a premier biennial outdoor exhibition that transforms El Paseo into an open-air gallery of large-scale, contemporary sculpture.

Widely recognized as one of the region's most iconic public art programs, the El Paseo Sculpture Exhibition showcases innovative works in the heart of Palm Desert, where they are experienced daily by thousands of residents and visitors. Selected sculptures will be installed along El Paseo and remain on display for a full two-year exhibition period, offering artists exceptional visibility in a destination known for art, dining, and design.

The exhibition is open to U.S.-based artists, as well as galleries, museums, and nonprofit organizations. Each selected artist will receive a $6,000 honorarium. In addition, the City of Palm Desert covers all costs associated with installation, lighting, insurance, maintenance, and promotion-allowing artists to focus on creative expression while their work becomes part of the city's evolving public art legacy.

Applications must be submitted by January 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MST.

Artists interested in contributing to this landmark exhibition and putting the public in public art are encouraged to apply online. For full details and submission guidelines, visit the City of Palm Desert Artist Opportunities page.
