Industry Groups Launch Global Women’s Walk 2025, May 11-18

The marine industry is coming together for the Global Women's Walk 2025, a new initiative recognizing the contributions of women in the recreational boating industry. Taking place May 11-18, 2025, and aligning with International Women in Maritime Day, this walk encourages industry professionals to participate wherever they are, with whomever they choose.

Organized by Soundings Trade Only Group, Metstrade, British Marine, and Marine Industry News, the walk is open to all genders and promotes unity, progress, and recognition for women shaping the industry. Participants are encouraged to walk 5 kilometers (3.2 miles) and share their experiences on social media using #GlobalWomensWalk2025.

Beyond raising awareness, the event supports Room to Read, a nonprofit focused on literacy and gender equality in education. Participants can contribute to this meaningful cause by making a donation. Industry leaders, including Patricia Becker (Metstrade), Michele Goldsmith (Soundings Trade Only), and Lesley Robinson (British Marine), emphasize the importance of representation, diversity, and collaboration in strengthening the marine sector.
