Tianjin, People's Republic of China, 17 June 2025 -The World Economic Forum will convene the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, People's Republic of China, from 24 to 26 June 2025. Held under the theme "Entrepreneurship for a New Era", the Meeting will bring together over 1,700 participants from over 90 countries, including leaders from business, government, civil society, international organizations, media and academia, to share insights and drive action on shared challenges.
Amid a rapidly evolving economic landscape marked by geo-economic uncertainty and technological disruption, the programme will examine how entrepreneurship and emerging technologies can help unlock new levers of global growth. As a key gathering of leading innovators, the meeting will explore concrete strategies for scaling transformative technologies, advancing innovative business models and forging new partnerships. The Meeting will also spotlight key emerging markets, with a particular focus on China and Asia at large.
"Despite fundamental shifts to the global economy, the interconnected challenges that we face still demand concerted collaboration," said Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum. "The Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 will bring together diverse leaders to explore how innovative entrepreneurial solutions can sustainably shape the economies of the future."

The Meeting will be hosted by the People's Republic of China. More than 144 senior political leaders, from around 30 countries and regions will participate, including 40 cabinet ministers. 14 global leaders from government and the private sector will co-chair the event: Faisal Alibrahim,Minister of Economy and Planning, Saudi Arabia; Noor Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board; Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of Egypt; Hussain J. AlNowais, Chairman, Al Nowais Investments; Henadi Al Saleh, Chair, Board of Directors, Agility; Liu Qiangdong, Founder and Chairman, JD.COM, People's Republic of China; Aguinaldo Jaime, Chairman, Unitel; Li Dongsheng, Founder and Chairman, TCL; Dai Houliang, Chairman, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC); Ilham Kadri, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Syensqo; Annette Mosman, Group Chief Executive Officer, APG Group; Chaoyang Qian, Director of the Board and President, China Southern Power Grid; Sima Ganwani Ved, Founder and Chairwoman, Apparel Group; Liao Lin, Chairman, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
The programme will be shaped around five key pillars:

"Leaders can sharpen their understanding of the trends and opportunities in China and Asia, and gain first hand insights into the dynamic and fast evolving innovation ecosystem in the region."

The meeting will be accessible to the public through the livestreaming of over 40 sessions, including the Opening Plenary, Trade: Trends and Endgames, Geopolitics: An Unfolding Story and The Time of AI+. The Forum will publish new research in the lead up to and during the meeting, including the new 2025 editions of the Energy Transition Index, the Top 10 Emerging Technologies report and the Future of Travel and Tourism.
