WHEREAS, Alaska is comprised of many languages, belief systems, and traditions that strengthen the cultural fabric of our State; and

WHEREAS, we respect the heritage and traditions of all cultures in our communities, and we are proud to be Alaskans with diverse ethnicities; and

WHEREAS, Arab Americans have made valuable contributions to our society in many fields, including medicine, law, business, education, technology, government, and military service; and

WHEREAS, since migrating to America, men and women of Arab descent have shared their vibrant culture and traditions with neighbors and friends, while also setting examples as model citizens and public servants; and

WHEREAS, they have enriched our society through their enduring family values, strong work ethic, commitment to education, and entrepreneurial spirit that makes our Nation free and prosperous; and

WHEREAS, through their achievements, Arab Americans have helped shape a brighter future for our Nation and we recognize the heritage of all those who are proud to call themselves Alaskans and Americans.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim April 2026 as:

Arab American Heritage Month

in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to recognize the contributions that Arab Americans have made to strengthen our Great State.
