HONOLULU - The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) will host a public scoping open house on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for the Kunia Interchange Improvements environmental study. The study will evaluate potential improvements to the Kunia Interchange, which provides a critical connection between the H-1 Freeway, Kunia Road and Fort Weaver Road on Oʻahu.

The Kunia Interchange supports regional mobility between Central Oʻahu and the primary east-west corridor serving Honolulu and West Oʻahu.

This open house will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the project and proposed improvements, speak with the project team, and provide input on the environmental study. Doors will open at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The public scoping open house will be at:

Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Kaleiʻopuʻu Elementary School Dining Hall
94-665 Kaaholo Street, Waipahu

The environmental study will examine alternatives to address existing and future traffic operations and improve mobility, as well as potential environmental impacts to community resources, natural resources and historic and cultural resources.

For those unable to attend the in-person open house, a virtual meeting option will be available:

Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
