Cameron University presents RECONNECT, a chance to finish earning a college degree

Former college students who have successfully completed some coursework, but haven't yet finished a college degree will have the unique opportunity to pick up where they left off during Reach Higher: RECONNECT at Cameron University. The May 5 virtual event will be held via Zoom from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and then again from 5-6 p.m. on that day.

During the event, participants can submit college admission applications, receive advisement and financial aid counseling, and enroll in college classes with support from knowledgeable college staff members.

"Oklahoma and Cameron University value adults who, despite their family and career obligations, would like to finish a degree, said CU Reach Higher coordinator Karin Hardin. "Cameron's degree in Organizational Leadership targets those students by delivering courses online and dedicating scholarship funds to help them complete their academic goals."

Noting that focus areas include business, sports and exercise science, sociology, criminal justice, military science and technology, Hardin noted, "If you have some college credit and are interested in finishing what you started, this event is for you."

Reach Higher: RECONNECT is a series of coordinated student recruitment events held each spring on participating campuses across Oklahoma, including Cameron. The primary goals of Reach Higher: RECONNECT events are to increase awareness of the adult-friendly degree completion options available through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education's initiative and encourage adults who have earned some college credit to successfully complete their degrees.

Reach Higher provides degree completion program options for adult learners at participating colleges and universities across the state. Features vary by program, but include flexible enrollment periods, online courses and the opportunity to complete a degree program aligned with Oklahoma's "100 Critical Occupations" list.
