SIIA Response to OSTP Request for Information on AI Regulatory Reform

The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) submitted comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in response to its Request for Information on Regulatory Reform on Artificial Intelligence. In its letter, SIIA emphasized the importance of a cohesive federal approach to AI policy that supports innovation, protects national security, and strengthens U.S. competitiveness.

The submission outlines key recommendations, including reforms to AI export controls, streamlined infrastructure development, prevention of regulatory fragmentation, and preservation of pro-innovation intellectual property policies. SIIA also urges the Administration to work with Congress on national AI legislation that preempts conflicting state rules and ensures consistent, innovation-friendly governance.
