Veterans and Families Invited to Oregon’s Largest Statewide Veteran Resource Event Aug. 28 in Roseburg

Veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their families are invited to attend the 2026 Veteran Benefit Expo, Oregon's largest statewide veteran resource event, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Douglas Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Roseburg.

Presented by the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) in partnership with the Oregon Lottery, the free event will bring together more than 100 service providers and experts from federal, state, county, Tribal, nonprofit, educational and community organizations to help veterans learn about and access the benefits, services and opportunities they have earned through their military service.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with benefit specialists and resource providers offering information and assistance on topics including VA health care, disability claims, employment, education, housing, mental health, long-term care, recreation, emergency assistance and more.

"Navigating veteran benefits can sometimes feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be," said Dr. Nakeia Council Daniels, director of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs. "Our Veteran Benefit Expo is designed to be a one-stop shop, making it easier for veterans and their families to get answers, discover new resources and connect with people who are ready to help. Whether you've been out of the military for six months or 60 years, we encourage you to come see what's available to you."

Since launching in 2015, the Veteran Benefit Expo has become ODVA's signature annual outreach event, traveling to communities across Oregon to improve access to earned benefits while strengthening connections between veterans and the organizations that serve them.

The Oregon Lottery returns as the Expo's presenting partner. Since voters overwhelmingly approved Measure 96 in 2016, more than $184 million in Lottery funding has been allocated to veterans' services in Oregon, helping expand programs and services that improve the lives of Oregon veterans and their families throughout the state.

"We're proud to support events like this in our local communities so veterans can access important benefits and resources," said Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells. "In fiscal year 2025, a total of $191,824 in Lottery revenue went to Douglas County."

The Veteran Benefit Expo is free and open to the public. No registration is required to attend.
