NATCA President Nick Daniels Holds First 2026 Meeting with FAA Academy Students

Feb 27, 2026

NATCA President Nick Daniels held the first Meet and Greet of 2026 with FAA Academy students in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026. Daniels was joined by New England Regional Vice President Kevin Curtiss, National Training Representative Jamaal Haltom (Las Vegas ATCT, LAS) and Reloaded Committee Member Cameron Haynes (Wichita ATCT, ICT). The NATCA leaders introduced the 59 Academy students to the NATCA community and answered questions about NATCA's structure, career opportunities, and the recent government shutdown.

A significant portion of the evening was spent discussing the power of union solidarity, facility assignments, and how best to navigate the transition from the OKC Academy to students' first field assignment.

NATCA leadership expects to hold similar meetings with Academy students throughout the calendar year, with the next meeting scheduled for March 18, 2026.
