City of Frederick Hosts Fall Freecycle Roundup on October 18

The City of Frederick is pleased to announce its Fall Freecycle Roundup, taking place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 111 East Airport Dr, Frederick, MD 21701. This event offers City residents a free, environmentally responsible way to dispose of bulky or reusable household items.

The Freecycle Roundup aims to reduce the amount of reusable materials entering the Frederick County landfill by encouraging residents to drop off items that can be recycled, repurposed, or reused by local organizations.

Accepted Items on Site Include:

  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Bicycles
  • Large toys and swing sets
  • Mattresses and box springs (limit of 3 per household)
  • Lawn equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, and trimmers (fluids must be removed)
  • Grills (propane tanks not accepted)

Note: All items must be less than 7 feet in length. Bags of trash will not be accepted.

In addition, local charitable organizations will be on-site to collect:

  • Clothing, shoes, purses, and belts
  • Books, CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes
  • Electronics and computer equipment, including TVs
  • Plastics
  • Furniture

Document shredding services will also be available on-site for residents looking to securely dispose of personal paperwork.

This event is open to residents of the City of Frederick only. Proof of residency will be required upon arrival.
