Committed to the sustainable development of Casanare and improving its neighbors' living conditions, GeoPark has created new opportunities in education, communication, and the local economy by helping to provide Internet access to more than 80 families in rural areas of Tauramena and Villanueva in the south of the department.
GeoPark provided more than 80 connectivity kits, technology that includers routers and fiber optics, to families in the village of Buenos Aires Alto in Villanueva municipality. Together with kits previously installed in the village of Punta del Guira in Tauramena municipality last January, more than 320 people in Casanare now have Internet access.
Donating these kits is part of GeoPark's social investment, which facilitates access to basic services and development opportunities in the communities where the Company operates. By strengthening educational processes, making information more available and promoting digital inclusion, providing Internet access supports the economic development of the region.
"At GeoPark, we firmly believe in the transformative power of connectivity. By providing Internet access to our neighbors, we are opening doors to new education, employment, and social opportunities. Our commitment is to continue to work closely with our neighbors to promote sustainable development in the region," GeoPark's Nature and Neighbors Manager Anibal Fernandez de Soto said.
Community leaders also highlighted the positive impact of this initiative, reflecting how dialogue and agreement bring sustainable solutions that contribute to community well-being. "We agreed this initiative with GeoPark to benefit more than 130 people in our village. It was a very agile process with a high-quality service that included the installation of fiber optics and gives us access to fast Internet," Buenos Aires Alto Community Action Board secretary Diana Bravo said.
By providing connectivity, GeoPark continues to underscore its commitment to generate shared value in the territories where it operates, fostering relationships based on trust, transparency and collaborative work.
