All Three Major Sports Venues Will Be Hosting Events Alongside the STEAM Family Festival at Public Auditorium
CLEVELAND - On Saturday, May 9, 2026, Cleveland will host a full day of major events expected to draw large crowds across the city. The Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Detroit Pistons in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Rocket Arena at 3:00 p.m., followed by the Guardians taking on the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field with a 6:10 p.m. first pitch. All closure times depend on traffic volume and can be adjusted as needed by the Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic. All decisions are made with public safety at top of mind. As always, exercise caution, and if you see something, please say something. For emergencies, call 911. The Cleveland Police non-emergency number is (216) 621-1234.

Parking restrictions will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, and will continue through midnight.
Always check nearby poles, posts, and parking meters for signage outlining parking restrictions, as these may change based on traffic conditions. Special Event Parking Zones
Downtown Special Events Zones will be in effect for the games and concert on Saturday, May 9. On-street parking will be $8/hour in these zones and are only temporary in nature - as they will start two hours before events and remain in effect through the conclusion of the event or until 10pm, whichever comes first.
These zones only include a limited number of streets and are significantly cheaper than event rates at any privately-owned parking lot/garage in the city. The updated rates will be reflected on ParkMobile, and users can pay in the app, online, or by phone via text/call. For those wishing to pay with cash, pay stations are also available throughout the area. Please look for nearby signage directing you to the closest pay station to where you parked.
Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead prior to arriving downtown for a better, easier parking experience. The Special Event Parking Map, along with additional street parking information, can be found on the City's website at clevelandohio.gov/streetparking.
