On March 31, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was remotely briefed on a project for the development of 1,400 hectares of unused land aimed at establishing intensive and super-intensive orchards. The project includes the construction of hydraulic structures, a pumping station, a cold storage facility with a capacity of 1,000 tons, and a fruit packaging facility.

During the presentation, the Head of State was informed that the land allocated for the project comes from state pasture reserves. Of the total 1,400 hectares, 1,350 hectares will be used for intensive and super-intensive orchards, while 50 hectares are designated for livestock grazing.

It was emphasized that apricot orchards using drip irrigation technology will be established on 1,200 hectares of the allocated land, and a modern greenhouse will be constructed on an area of 2 hectares.

It was also announced that the site will include the construction of a cold storage facility with a capacity of 1,000 tons, the establishment of 10 reservoirs with a total capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, and the development of a livestock farm for 2,000 head of small livestock and 400 head of cattle, creating 150 jobs. The implementation of this project will make a significant contribution to the achievement of the strategic goals of the state and the Government.

The Leader of the Nation gave specific instructions to entrepreneurs in the city of Isfara to ensure the rational use of land, the production of environmentally friendly agricultural products, their export abroad, and the active involvement of local labor.

During the visit, the Head of State also remotely inaugurated the "Amirkhan" orchard, established on 87 hectares of previously unused land in the Mohpari area by domestic entrepreneur Manuchehr Amirzoda.

At the initial stage, 300,000 apricot seedlings-of the Apricot, "Shishakhurmoi", and "Boboi" varieties have been planted on 44 hectares. The orchard will contribute to supplying the domestic market with environmentally friendly products, expanding export potential, and creating new jobs.

The city of Isfara is renowned not only nationally but also regionally for its apricot production. Each year, local farmers expand orchard areas and achieve notable success in cultivating this valuable export crop.

In the second phase of the project, it is planned to expand the orchard by an additional 43 hectares using high-quality apricot and peach varieties. As a result, 40 local residents will be provided with employment.

Each year, the gardeners of Isfara, guided by expert recommendations and making effective use of available resources, strive to contribute to the achievement of the country's strategic goal-ensuring food security-by bringing new lands into productive use.

The Leader of the Nation also provided further instructions and recommendations to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of this initiative.
