Rep. Subramanyam Issues Statement on Livestream Execution of Fort Hood Shooter Nidal Hasan

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Ranking Member of the Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee, issued the following statement on the Pentagon's announcement that they would be livestreaming the firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan. Nidal Hisan killed 13 people at the Fort Hood military base in 2009.

"Regimes in Iran, North Korea, and ISIS carry out public executions, not America. Nidal Malik Hisan should face consequences, but livestreaming his execution is blatantly un-American and against what our country stands for. When we do this, we lose our moral standing on the global stage and set a horrible precedent. The Administration must stop this, and Secretary Hegseth needs to be removed. History will not judge this action kindly," said Ranking Member Suhas Subramanyam.
