15-Year-Old Arrested For Armed Robbery Following Facebook Marketplace Transaction

A 15-year-old was arrested Wednesday by Violent Crimes detectives after he set up a Facebook Marketplace transaction to purchase an electric dirt bike this weekend and robbed the seller of the bike at gunpoint.

The teen was apprehended on a juvenile petition charging him with aggravated robbery after he was identified as the suspect who organized the meeting to buy the bike, which was subsequently located by detectives in his backyard.

The stolen bike was returned to the victim.

Two handguns were also recovered from the 15-year-old's bedroom along with firearm accessories.

Additional charges are anticipated as Robbery Unit detectives continue to investigate similar incidents that have occurred over the last few weeks.
