For several years, MAU Disability Services Offices have presented free virtual training sessions, entitled the "UA DS 'All Access, All the Time' Staff and Faculty Support Series".
It's been quite successful, and while we were eager to bring additional training during this Academic Year, the timing coincided with the first time all of our institutional locations (main and community campuses) started using one robust system to meet the needs of students seeking accommodations for their courses around the state.
This integration had been a long time coming; previously, students taking courses at multiple campuses had to contact different staff members for Faculty Notification Letters for each class. Sometimes, this was a hassle and while the DS Offices endeavored to shoulder the burden, it was still clunky from the student's perspective. Well, no more; as of fall 2025, students are able to simply use this one-stop system for accommodations at any of our locations.
While this has been an exciting time for us, it has meant we put our UA DS 'All Access, All the Time' Staff and Faculty Support Series on hold. We will return with new programming in Fall 2026. In the meantime, we're happy to share some of our most popular event recordings so faculty and staff are not left wanting!
Interested in exploring other sessions? Feel free to browse a variety of additional DS training videos on our YouTube channel and remember to check back for updates from time to time. For example, our 'How to Stay Out of Hot Water' training session video will be uploaded next week! To ensure accessibility, each session includes live captioning and ASL interpretation; open captions are added afterward so viewers can read along if they choose.
As always, feel free to reach out to DS if you have questions about a student in your course or department, or if you need additional information regarding academic accommodations.
