STATEMENT: Recent U.S. Military Developments in the Middle East

(Washington, D.C.) - I am closely monitoring the developing situation in the Middle East following U.S. military strikes on Iran and retaliatory activity in the region.

The United States remains the strongest and most capable military force in the world, and our service members continue to demonstrate extraordinary professionalism and courage in carrying out their mission.

The United States also stands firmly with our allies and partners across the Middle East, including Israel, as they face growing security threats in the region. Our commitment to the safety and stability of our allies remains unwavering.

As a veteran, I know that moments like this place tremendous weight on the shoulders of the men and women who serve. My prayers are with all of our service members currently deployed, especially the sons and daughters of Guam who are stationed in the region and standing watch on behalf of our nation.

We are also closely following reports regarding attacks on the U.S. Navy installation in Bahrain and attempted strikes on military bases in the Middle East. The safety of our service members must remain the highest priority, and we will continue monitoring developments and seeking more information on the administration's strategy in the days and weeks to come.
