Have you ever considered representing your community as an elected member?

Ahead of the upcoming local government elections, Burnie City Council is hosting a free Candidate Information Session for anyone interested in learning more about the role of local government and what is involved in becoming a councillor.

Hosted by General Manager Shane Crawford, the session will provide an overview of how local government operates, how councils make decisions, and important information for those considering nominating for election.

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2026
Time: 6 pm to 7 pm
Location: Burnie City Council Chambers | 80 Wilson Street, Burnie

Whether you are seriously considering standing for election or are simply interested in learning more about local government, everyone is welcome to attend.

No RSVP is required - simply come along on the night.
