Cybersecurity Tip of the Week – Cybercriminals Don’t Take Summer Vacations

Summer travel is a time to relax, but it's also a time to stay cyber-aware. Whether you're at an airport, hotel, coffee shop, or vacation rental, be cautious when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks. Avoid accessing sensitive accounts, such as banking or work systems, on unsecured networks, and consider using a trusted VPN when traveling. Keep your devices with you, enable screen locks, and turn on multi-factor authentication for important accounts before you leave. Be careful about posting travel updates in real time, as public posts can reveal that your home is unoccupied. A few simple precautions can help ensure your memories are the only thing you bring home from your trip.
