IP John Costa and IEVP Yvette Trujillo attended the AFL-CIO's 6th Annual Labor Innovation & Technology (LIT) Summit

Wednesday, January 08, 2025
It was another busy day in Las Vegas, NV, as International President John Costa and International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo attended the AFL-CIO's 6th Annual Labor Innovation & Technology (LIT) Summit, which the ATU is proud to cosponsor. The LIT Summit, which coincides with CES, the world's largest tech trade show, aims to empower Union members by giving participants a robust toolkit to confront growing technologies in the workplace.
Highlights of the event were various panels talking about worker rights and winning in the age of tech, AI and democracy, labor partnerships, tech legislation, contract language, workers, and civil rights. ATU's Director of JICs and Collective Bargaining, John Lyons, spoke on a panel about bargaining tech, including the use and implementation of data-driven technologies. The cross-sector panel shared strategies for engaging members on existing and future technology implementation, arming participants with key strategies for bargaining.

Under President Costa's leadership, participating in CES and the LIT Summit is another way the ATU is at the forefront of preparing and protecting our members regarding technology now and in the future.
