AAR celebrates ribbon cutting for Airframe MRO facility expansion in Miami

AAR leaders and stakeholders cut ribbon at AAR's new hangar in Miami on August 17, 2026.

Wood Dale, Illinois - AAR CORP., the leading parts, repair, and software platform in the aviation aftermarket, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate the expansion of its Airframe MRO footprint in Miami.

Constructed to meet maintenance capacity requirements for a long-term commercial airline, the new facility will support three lines of heavy maintenance and is expected to induct its first aircraft this autumn. The expansion adds 100,000+ square feet to AAR's Airframe MRO facility at Miami International Airport. The project was made possible through AAR's collaboration with the airport, Ryan Companies, HPM, and federal, state, and local partners.

The additional work supported in the new facility creates 200 new full-time jobs with AAR and brings economic benefits to Miami-Dade County. AAR is actively staffing the new roles through its established workforce development pipeline and collaborative initiatives with local educational institutions, reinforcing the Company's long-term commitment to talent development and community investment.

"The expansion of our Airframe MRO facility in Miami reflects both the strength of our operations and the confidence customers place in AAR to deliver quality and reliability. We are excited to continue growing alongside our airline customers while enhancing our ability to meet their evolving maintenance needs," said John M. Holmes, AAR's Chairman, President and CEO. "We appreciate the collaboration of Miami International Airport, our project partners, and government stakeholders whose support made this expansion possible."

"It is a privilege to join the community and AAR today to celebrate the expansion of this Airframe MRO facility at Miami International Airport. This significant investment will strengthen South Florida's position as a global leader by creating 200 full-time jobs for Miami-Dade residents and bringing new economic opportunities to our community," said Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart. "With more than 1,300 AAR employees already across Florida, this expansion underscores the company's ongoing commitment to our state and its workforce. I congratulate AAR on this important milestone and thank Miami International Airport and our federal, state, and local partners for making this project possible. Investments like this strengthen our economy and ensure South Florida remains at the forefront of the aviation industry for years to come."

"I proudly congratulate AAR for its commitment and investment in infrastructure and job creation at MIA, Miami-Dade County's largest economic engine," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. "As MIA continues to climb in global airport rankings, this facility will play an essential role in our long-term economic growth and success."
