On September 16-17, 2025 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Tajikistan in partnership with the International Organization for Migration in Tajikistan, held a two-day training session on combating trafficking in persons for the Ministry's employees.

The training was organized as part of the implementation of the relevant provision of the National Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Republic of Tajikistan. It aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of Ministry personnel in identifying, preventing, and responding effectively to cases of human trafficking, as well as in providing assistance to victims.

During the seminar, participants examined issues related to the definition of human trafficking within the context of international and national legal frameworks, the nature, objectives, and goals of the national mechanism for the rehabilitation of victims of trafficking, and the processes of identification, rehabilitation, assistance, and protection based on interagency cooperation. Legal grounds for granting victim status, risk assessment, and the evaluation of victims' needs were also discussed.
