Latest episode of Making the Case available now on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube
Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, on Friday released the fifth episode of season two of his podcast, Making the Case. In the new episode, Whitehouse is joined by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
Whitehouse and Holder recapped Attorney General Pam Bondi's nonsense hearing last week in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and slammed President Trump's weaponization of the Department of Justice to prosecute his political enemies. Whitehouse and Holder also discussed two major cases before the Supreme Court that threaten to further degrade voting rights and campaign finance law.
"The American people should expect that their Attorney General can answer simple questions from Senators and tell the truth before the American people. That is simply not the case with Attorney General Bondi and the rest of the MAGA toadies at the Department of Justice," said Whitehouse. "I'm grateful to former Attorney General Eric Holder - who did an outstanding job leading the Department of Justice and who continues to be a vigorous defender of our democracy - for joining me to break down Trump's weaponization of law enforcement and spotlight other emerging threats to the rule of law."
The fifth episode of season two of Making the Case is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts,YouTube, and other podcast platforms.
Attorney General Bondi used her time at last week's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to deflect and lob demonstrably false claims instead of answering simple questions. Saturday Night Livemocked the Attorney General's response to Senator Whitehouse's questioning in its cold open last weekend.
Former Attorney General Holder previously joined Making the Case with Senator Whitehouse and Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) in September 2023 to break down how the Roberts Court rolled back voting rights and to discuss ways to restore the Supreme Court's integrity.
