Shannon Bryant, LMHC, has been named vice president of talent development, engagement and inclusion, and Vicki Landes, MBA, BSN, RN, has been named vice president of community health improvement.
This change reflects an evolution of Kaleida Health's diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and community health work into two broader, more integrated departments: the Department of Talent Development, Engagement and Inclusion and Community Health Improvement.
"At Kaleida Health, we are constantly evaluating the work we do, the services we offer and the teams we have in place - and realigning to continue to make a meaningful difference and meet the needs of our patients, community and our workforce," said Ian Barrett, executive vice president and chief people officer for Kaleida Health. "After evaluating emerging trends in workplace DEI efforts and performing a community-wide needs assessment of the populations we serve, it became clear that we needed to better align our work, resources and structure so we can continue to be the healthcare provider of choice and employer of choice for our community."

Bryant joined Kaleida Health in November 2020 as the chief diversity and inclusion officer. In her time at Kaleida Health, Bryant has - and will continue to - provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of diversity, equity and inclusion plans for Kaleida Health. She has fostered an organizational culture focused on ensuring Kaleida Health's services, programs, activities and strategic goals were inclusive and reflective of our workforce as well as the patients and communities we serve.
Under Bryant's leadership, Kaleida Health established four multidisciplinary, employee and provider-driven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) - Diversity, Inclusion, and Racial Equity (DIRE), Sexual And Gender Equity (SAGE), Veterans Engaging Together (VET), and Parents and Caregivers Engaging (PACE). She also established the system-wide DEI Executive Council to bring important issues to Human Resources and the executive team to help drive strategic priorities and cultural transformation.
Prior to joining Kaleida Health, Bryant served as director of learning, development and diversity for Person Centered Services. Before that, she was director of clinical care coordination at Evergreen Health where she oversaw care coordination services for the Health Home program.
She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and master's degree in health counseling from Canisius University. She is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Leadership Buffalo graduate and board member of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and Buffalo Prep. She previously held board roles with the Children's Hospital Association, Leadership Buffalo, the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation and Neighborhood Health Center.
Landes most recently served as vice president of integrated health at Kaleida Health, overseeing our Pediatric Primary Care Centers, School Based Health Centers (SBHCs), Community Care Management Program, Regional Lead Prevention Program, and the Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Program. She joined Kaleida Health in January 2019 as senior director of pediatric public health and integrated care. Prior to that, she served as vice president for community care coordination and services at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
Under Landes' leadership, Kaleida Health established multiple areas of support and integrated care for children and families living in our community, including a Down syndrome clinic; feeding refusal clinic; HealthySteps program targeting primary care patients under the age of 5; developmental screening and testing for school age children in the SBHCs; suicide prevention program for adolescents; inpatient psychology program; eating disorder clinic; and community care management.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Brockport and her MBA from Medaille University. Landes has also shared her expertise in managed care as a statewide director at Fidelis Care New York and as an adjunct professor at Canisius University in health information technology.
