TMPA to Mayor Rodriguez: Stop the Smear Campaign

AUSTIN, TX- Balcones Heights Mayor Johnny Rodriguez's recent interview with the San Antonio Express-News was nothing short of disgraceful. Calling his own officers "bullies with badges" while pushing Proposition A is a desperate attempt to distract from his own failures.

This isn't about fiscal responsibility - it's about control. Proposition A would strip officers of collective bargaining protections, giving Rodriguez unchecked power to target and terminate those who don't fall in line-or fall in love with his anti-police campaign.

The timing of this hit piece is no coincidence. Early voting begins tomorrow, and this looks like a calculated effort to sway voters with sensationalism over substance.

TMPA stands firmly with the Balcones Heights Police Officers Association. We urge voters to reject this dangerous measure and vote NO on Proposition A. The community deserves leadership - not vendettas.
