Kuwait Signs its Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2026–2035

Dr. Faisal S. AlHumaidan, Director General, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Kuwait's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2026-2035 on 15 September 2025. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Kuwait has been an IAEA Member State since 1964. Its 2026-2035 CPF identifies 7 priority areas:

  1. Legal framework
  2. Nuclear and radiation safety and security
  3. Food and agriculture
  4. Human health and nutrition
  5. Water resources and environment
  6. Energy and industry
  7. Cultural heritage
