In-person hearings in Greensburg, Westmoreland County on June 10 and telephonic hearings on June 11

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) reminds consumers about in-person and telephonic public input hearings next week on the proposed rate increase request by Peoples Natural Gas Company LLC (Peoples Gas), which provides natural gas distribution service to approximately 700,000 customers across Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The PUC hearings have been scheduled to gather public input on the Peoples Gas' rate increase request - which seeks to increase annual operating revenues by approximately $163.2 million (13.8%) and would increase the average bill for a residential customer using 86 Mcf per year of natural gas from $122.20 per month to $138.23 per month (13.1%).

The PUC has suspended the rate changes to allow for a full investigation, including public input hearings.
