ATSU-KCOM named Region 16 Hub Anchor for initiative to improve rural health outcomes in Missouri

A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) has been selected as the Region 16 Hub Anchor for Missouri's Rural Health Transformation Program, serving Adair, Knox, Macon, and Shelby counties, the Missouri Department of Social Services announced.

The role is part of the state's Transformation of Rural Community Health (ToRCH) Care initiative. As one of 27 Hub Anchors statewide, ATSU-KCOM will work to bring together healthcare providers, community-based organizations, local leaders, and other regional partners to strengthen collaboration, identify shared priorities, and support sustainable approaches to improve health outcomes in rural Missouri.

ATSU-KCOM Vice Dean Jeffrey Davis, DO, CMD, who is leading the Region 16 Hub Anchor work, said the College would leverage its long-standing local partnerships and mission of whole person healthcare to unite stakeholders and transform rural healthcare access.

"We know that meaningful progress depends on strong local partnerships, and we're looking forward to building on the work already happening across our community," Dr. Davis said. "We will collaborate with our Hub partners to identify local priorities, share ideas, and develop solutions that address the unique needs of our region."
