Our goal is to always deliver the best version of BlueCruise* hands-free highway driving software for each vehicle line and model year as it is ready, whether it's installed at the factory or delivered via an over-the-air software update. Now, we are rolling out the first BlueCruise software update to eligible truck owners.
After launching one of our latest versions of software - BlueCruise 1.4 - on the 2025 F-150 and F-150 Lightning, we are now deploying this version to 2022-2023 F-150 and F-150 Lightning, plus 2024 F-150 Lightning BlueCruise-equipped vehicles.
Depending on the model year, the software update will take eligible owners from BlueCruise 1.0 or 1.2 all the way to BlueCruise 1.4. Truck owners who receive this update will experience a more natural drive experience and more time in hands-free mode compared to earlier versions, with fewer interruptions requiring the driver to put their hands on the wheel.
Based on our internal testing, truck customers can stay engaged in hands-free mode on the highway an average of 8 times longer compared to the first version of BlueCruise, and five times longer compared to BlueCruise 1.2.
Imagine yourself as a 2023 Ford F-150 truck owner with BlueCruise 1.0, on your daily commute and for occasional weekend road trips. Here's what you would experience with an upgrade to BlueCruise 1.4:
To highlight these improvements, I recently took my colleague and BlueCruise super-user Ashley Lambrix for a test drive in Dearborn, discussing the enhancements truck owners can expect.

To help ensure a smooth and successful software rollout, our process is to send software updates by model years within each vehicle line. This is because every model year is unique and requires a different software package, involving complex updates to multiple system modules and in-vehicle display screens.
We are rolling out BlueCruise 1.4 first to 2022-2024 F-150 Lightning and 2022-2023 F-150 vehicles. We will announce software updates for other model years across F-150 vehicles as they become available.
BlueCruise 1.4 is also shipping from the factory on 2025 Ford F-150, 2025 F-150 Lightning, 2025 Ford Expedition and 2025 Lincoln Navigator vehicles. We have already rolled out BlueCruise 1.3 to 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles.
As updates become available, we will continue to deploy an improved hands-free highway driving experience across nine Ford and Lincoln vehicle lines and engine types, including gas-powered, hybrid and all-electric. This includes directly from the factory and via software updates after customers drive their vehicle off the dealer lot.
No matter which version of software you have, we believe in the value that BlueCruise can deliver to help make highway driving easier, whether you are on your daily commute or on a long road trip.
