West Covina DMV Office to Close Temporarily

What you need to know: The West Covina DMV office will close temporarily for renovations on May 1 at 5 p.m. However, most customers do not have to visit an office and can do their DMV business online at dmv.ca.gov.

Sacramento - The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced that the West Covina office at 800 S. Glendora Ave. will close temporarily for painting and the installation of new flooring beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 1. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 18.

Until the renovations are complete, customers can visit the following area offices:

  • El Monte: 4000 Arden Drive (9 miles from the West Covina office)
  • Pomona: 1600 S. Garey Ave. (13 miles from the West Covina office)
  • Montebello: 424 N. Wilcox Ave. (14 miles from the West Covina office)
  • Pasadena: 49 S. Rosemead Blvd. (14 miles from the West Covina office)

Before Going to a DMV Office - Try Online First

Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, such as eligible driver's license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn about options to complete DMV tasks.

Go Paperless - To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver's license renewal notices, sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov to opt in.
