National Work Zone Awareness Week: April 20-24, 2026

Safe Action Saves Lives

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) is proud to stand with transportation agencies nationwide in recognizing National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW), April 20-24, 2026.

This year's theme is "Safe Action Saves Lives."

The motto is a powerful reminder that everyone plays a key role in maintaining safety for all on the roadway.

At the DRPA, our crews work tirelessly to maintain and improve the four bridges and our PATCO transit line that connect communities across the Delaware River. Often, this work happens just feet from moving traffic. Respecting speed limits, staying alert, and following posted signs are not just good habits, they are actions that help protect the lives of those working to keep our region moving.

We encourage motorists to do their part: stay alert and be patient in work zones. Behind every vest is a person; a parent, sibling, friend or neighbor.

When driving through a work zone, please remember to:

  • Obey all posted speed limits
  • Stay focused and avoid distractions
  • Watch for changing traffic patterns, workers, and equipment
  • Leave extra space between your vehicle and others, especially around construction vehicles

Let's work together to keep work zones safe and save lives.
