SESAR JU showcases innovation at R&I Days and EIC Drone Day

From 16-17 September, the SESAR JU participated in the EU Research & Innovation (R&I) Days in Brussels, highlighting its work across aviation research and innovation.

On the sidelines of R&I Days, the EIC Drone Day offered a dedicated space for SESAR JU and a portfolio of its projects to exhibit their drone solutions, demonstrating a selection of Europe's latest advancements in safe, efficient, and sustainable drone operations.

SESAR JU projects BURDI.eu, SAFIR-Ready and U-ELCOME participated, demonstrating how Europe is shaping the future of safe, sustainable, and scalable drone operations.

The event also welcomed European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, Ekaterina Zaharieva, as well as Magda Kopczyńska, the Director General of DG MOVE at the European Commission, with whom SESAR JU shared some of its U-space achievements.

At the Research & Innovation Days exhibition, the SESAR JU Digital Sky Demonstrator ECHOES presented a prototype of the satellite antennae as well as an interactive hologram of the satellite. Together these exhibits illustrated how satellite-based technologies can transform aviation connectivity, efficiency, and sustainability, even in the most remote oceanic regions.
