UPDATED TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Northbound Lyons Road to be closed between New England Boulevard and Century Village Boulevard, Boca Raton

The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) will be using licensed contractors to perform critical infrastructure upgrades, resulting in a temporary closure of northbound Lyons Road between New England Boulevard and Century Village Boulevard in Boca Raton.

Due to weather conditions and to ease traffic in the area, work originally scheduled to begin on Friday, May 29, 2026, has now been rescheduled to begin on Friday, June 5, 2026. This northbound Lyons Road closure in the Century Village area is now scheduled to begin on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., and is scheduled to be completed on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.

With this temporary closure, through-traffic and motorists with destinations north of New England Boulevard, will be routed to detour west on Kimberly Boulevard, north along State Road 7/ US Highway 441, east on Yamato Road and then south/north on Lyons Road to reach their destination. Local residents of Century Village will be directed to enter the "south gate" on Century Village Boulevard to reach their residences. Digital indicators, safety devices and visible work zone perimeters are in place to guide motorists (see attached illustration).

This work is ongoing as part of a multi-year, multi-phase water reclamation pipeline being installed to supply area communities with high-quality reclaimed water for irrigation and landscape needs. Reclaimed water allows communities to irrigate their landscapes, golf courses and scenic waterways, and provides critical aquifer recharge through popular community recreation sites such as Green Cay and Wakodahatchee wetlands.
