Roxborough Memorial Hospital Earns Platinum Designation in 2025 HAP Donate Life Hospital Challenge

PHILADELPHIA (October 8, 2025) - Roxborough Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that it has been awarded "Platinum" status by HAP in recognition of its outstanding efforts to promote organ donation during National Donate Life Month this past April. The hospital's initiatives included comprehensive training sessions, community engagement events, and robust campaigns aimed at registering new organ donors.

The annual Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge, organized by HAP, encourages hospitals across the state to elevate awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation. This initiative is supported in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the two organ procurement organizations serving the region-the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) and the Gift of Life Donor Program.

Throughout National Donate Life Month, participating hospitals, including Roxborough Memorial, undertook various activities such as internal training, community outreach events, and public awareness campaigns to bolster donation efforts. Hospitals are recognized at different levels-Titanium, Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze-based on their contributions to this vital cause.

This year, the challenge saw participation from 121 hospitals across Pennsylvania, highlighting a growing commitment to organ donation awareness. Currently, more than 6,500 individuals in Pennsylvania are in need of life-saving organ transplants, with one donor having the potential to save up to eight lives and enhance the lives of up to 75 others.

"Our hospital's team is dedicated to the mission of saving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation," said Shawn Parekh, CEO of Roxborough Memorial Hospital. "Achieving the Platinum designation reflects our commitment to raising awareness and engaging our community in this critical initiative. We believe that every effort counts in making a difference for those in need."

"Hospital teams rely on organ, eye, and tissue donors to save lives and give patients a chance for a bright future," said HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings. "Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners have done an outstanding job of supporting and raising awareness about donation. We applaud the hospital teams who participated in our annual challenge and demonstrated their strong commitment to improving the health of their communities."
