Dairyland and MiEnergy Cooperative Donate $2,000 to the Wilson Fire Department

July 16, 2026

Dairyland, in collaboration with MiEnergy Cooperative, presented a $2,000 donation to the Wilson Fire Department on July 16, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to supporting the communities they serve through the Cooperative Contributions Program. Dairyland and MiEnergy each donated $1,000.

The donation will support the purchase of a fire blanket, which can help first responders safely contain fires involving electric vehicles. Because EV fires can require significant amounts of water to extinguish, fire blankets provide an important tool for departments with limited municipal water supply.

"Safety is our highest priority at Dairyland and that commitment extends to communities we serve," said Dairyland President and CEO Brent Ridge. "We are grateful for the first responders who show up when they are needed most and proud to support the work they do to keep our communities safe."

The Wilson Fire Department is a 100% volunteer department with 39 firefighters and emergency medical responders. It responds to fire, rescue and EMS emergencies in Wilson Township and parts of Wiscoy, Warren and Homer townships.

"We are proud to support the work of the volunteers at the Wilson Fire Department," said MiEnergy President and CEO Brian Krambeer. "They provide an essential service to our rural communities and helping them access the right equipment is one way we can show appreciation for their commitment to keeping our members and neighbors safe."

Through the Cooperative Contributions Program, Dairyland and its member cooperatives continuously strive to make a positive impact in various sectors, including healthcare, education and community development.
