The meeting is now four full days beginning at 8 a.m. CT, Friday, Nov. 7.

Scientific Sessions 2025 will be in-person only; educational sessions will notbe available for virtual attendance. Journalists who plan to attend the meeting in person must register for the meeting as a meeting attendee to secure a badge/access to attend Scientific Sessions.

On site media registration/badge pick up opens Thursday, Nov. 6, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. CT and then daily at 7:30 a.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 7 through Monday, Nov. 10.

The 2025 embargoed news briefing schedule will include at least one news briefing is tentatively scheduled for early afternoon on Friday, Nov. 7. We recommend planning to arrive on-site by 12 p.m. CT on Friday if you would like to attend the first news briefing. (Lunch will be available.)

Also this year:

  • Nearly 80 sessions are scheduled on Friday, Nov. 7, starting at 8 a.m. CT, including symposia about Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Syndrome, Congenital Heart Disease, Valve Disease, Quality of Care and Outcomes Research, and more.
  • About 20 sessions on Friday will be offered by the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Medical Society (HCMS).In a first-time collaboration, HCMS annual meeting is co-located at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions!
  • The Opening Session for Scientific Sessions is at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Access to Embargoed SS 2025 Password-Protected Newsroom (SSPPN) requires a separate login. This is not the same as registering to attend Sessions in person.

You must have access to the SSPPN to view and participate REMOTELY in the embargoed, livestreamed, Late-Breaking Science (LBS) News Briefings. Registration is required if you do not already have an active PPN login.

  • Late-Breaking Science will be presented throughout the meeting Saturday through Monday. Select Scientific Sessions Late-Breaking Science presentations and symposia will be livestreamed; please see the Scientific Sessions virtual programming info for details.
  • Nobel Laureate Ardem Patapoutian, Ph.D., professor at the Scripps Research Institute, Presidential Endowed Chair in Neurobiology, and an investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, gives an address titled: May the Force Be with You: PIEZO Ion Channels as Essential Pressure Sensors for Touch, Pain, Blood Pressure, and Beyond on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 9:45 a.m. CT. Patapoutian was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2021 (jointly with David Julius, Ph.D.) for identifying the molecules that sense temperature and pressure involved in touch, pain and regulating blood pressure.
  • Expanded Moderated Digital Poster presentations providing more interactive platforms have been added.
  • New Guidelines sessions will offer in-depth explorations of the latest clinical guidelines and their real-world applications in patient care.
  • More leading voices including clinicians, principal investigators, American Heart Association award recipients, scientific journal editors and thought leaders shaping the future of cardiovascular science throughout the entire program.
