AUC Chairperson reiterated the urgent imperative of an immediate ceasefire Sudan

At the Ministerial Meeting on #Sudan, co-convened by the African Union & the European Union on the margins of #UNGA80 in New York, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission, reiterated the urgent imperative of an immediate #ceasefire as a prerequisite for unhindered humanitarian assistance, while underscoring that an inclusive, Sudanese-owned dialogue remains the only credible avenue towards a sustainable resolution of the conflict. He further apprised participants of the AU-led Global Political Dialogue to be launched in October.

The meeting welcomed the AU's centrality and reaffirmed collective commitment to harmonize and align all efforts under its leadership.
