Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau addressed the U.S.-Guyana Investment Enabling Forum July 17, underscoring our efforts to strengthen investor confidence and expand U.S. commercial engagement in Guyana. Co-hosted with the Business Council for International Understanding at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, the forum brought together senior U.S. and Guyanese officials and private sector leaders to advance progress on the business environment, energy, and infrastructure.

Commercial diplomacy is a core element of American foreign policy. The United States is committed to ensuring that where American companies invest, the U.S. Government stands behind them: cutting red tape, expanding access to financing, and creating the conditions for durable, high-quality investment. As Guyana's economy continues its unprecedented expansion, the United States is positioning American businesses to lead in energy, infrastructure, and other sectors central to the country's growth.

U.S. companies offer high standards, transparent financing, and quality workmanship. A strong U.S.-Guyana economic partnership is a strategic priority. Deepening these ties strengthens supply chains, advances energy security, and builds a more stable and prosperous hemisphere that delivers lasting benefits for American workers and businesses alike. When U.S. companies execute projects in Guyana, Guyanese communities can expect them to be built to last.
