"It is clear that protecting the Caspian basin ecosystem requires the coordinated efforts of all five Caspian littoral states - Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Russia proceeds from the fact that all spheres of interaction in the region, including ecological and nature management issues, should be exclusively regulated by the Caspian littoral states without any involvement or interference of third countries", noted First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin at the roundtable.

On the same day, a discussion on food security issues took place at the Tavricheskiy Palace.

Chair of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Legislation and State Administration Mikhail Rusy spoke about his country's success in achieving a high level of food security. He also emphasized that Belarus played an important role in the food security of the Eurasian Economic Union and advocated the withdrawal of global food trade from the sanctions pressure.

"Today Kazakhstan is focused on modernizing agriculture, developing sustainable and climate-adapted technologies, improving the qualifications of agricultural specialists and strengthening laboratory control", said member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Utegulov at the roundtable.

A roundtable "Children for a Clean Planet" was held as part of the XI Nevsky International Ecological Congress.
