Additionally, Sunday evening, members of Marin's Rescue Task Force-1, Marin County's Fire Investigation Team, San Rafael Firefighters, and San Rafael Police Investigators continued to work on recovery and investigation efforts.
While working through the severely damaged apartment complex, a second deceased victim was located.

At this time, SRPD is no longer actively looking for the two missing individuals, as it is believed that they are the two deceased individuals who have been located. The Marin County Coroner's Office will confirm the identities of the remains that have been found. We ask for patience as the Coroner's Office works to identify the deceased.

On behalf of the City of San Rafael, we offer our deepest condolences to the families, friends, neighbors, and community members of those who have passed away.

We are thankful for the community's support, as we know this has deeply impacted the displaced residents of the apartment complex and the surrounding neighborhood. We ask the public to be respectful of surrounding residents and avoid the area of Canal Street between Hoag Street and Harbor Street.
