SLI signs an agreement with e-Smart Group, a global air logistics platform, to provide asset finance for a fleet of up to 20 BETA TECHNOLOGIES all-electric aircraft.
[August 6, 2026] - Our aerospace subsidiary, SLI, signed an agreement with e-Smart Group, a global air logistics platform, to provide asset finance for a fleet of up to 20 BETA TECHNOLOGIES all-electric aircraft.
The partnership represents one of the first asset leasing agreements for BETA's zero-emission CTOL and VTOL aircraft. Under the agreement, SLI will own the aircraft while e-Smart Logistics leases them through fixed monthly payments, offering a flexible approach to financing the expansion of its electric aircraft fleet.
The fleet will include a combination of BETA's ALIA CX300 electrically powered conventional take-off and landing aircraft and ALIA A250 electrically powered vertical take-off and landing aircraft, initially to be deployed in e-Smart's air cargo operations in Europe.
SLI was launched by Libra Group in 2023 as the world's first space asset leasing business, and its remit expanded in 2026 to encompass all aerospace assets, including advanced air mobility (AAM). With this agreement, SLI now has orders for up to 210 electric aircraft and autonomous cargo drones, supporting the adoption of next-generation aviation technologies through flexible leasing options.
Praveen Vetrivel, CEO of SLI, stated, "All-electric aircraft, such as the BETA ALIA platform, offer an ideal solution, particularly to time-sensitive applications such as e-commerce, medical logistics, and urgent supply chain and maintenance requirements."
e-Smart Group expects AAM aircraft to help revolutionize logistics by providing a zero-emission alternative to road and rail transportation, supporting faster, more sustainable connections between major logistics hubs and smaller regional centers.
