Roxbury Man Arrested on Multiple Firearm Charges

On Friday, January 10, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested 44-year-old Phillip Anderson of Roxbury on multiple firearm-related offenses following an investigation near 206 Warren Street, Roxbury.

At approximately 10:37 PM, while on patrol, Officers observed a vehicle left running on a public way. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found Anderson asleep in the driver's seat.

During the investigation, Officers located a firearm inside the vehicle's armrest. The weapon was later identified by District B-2 Detectives as a Smith & Wesson .40 Tactical firearm, loaded with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.

Anderson was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:

  • Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Fourth Offense)
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Firearm Violation with Two Prior Violent and/or Drug Offenses

In addition, Anderson received citations for operating a vehicle with an idle engine for over five minutes and excessive window tint.
