STATEMENT BY MAYOR ELICKER ON NEW HAVEN BREAKING THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ FOR THE WORLD’S LARGEST PIZZA PARTY 🍕🎉🏆
[NEW HAVEN, CT] - On Friday evening, the City of New Haven was successful is setting a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for the world's largest pizza party with 4,525 pizza party participants.
Spearheaded by Taste of New Haven in partnership with the City of New Haven, the Elm City completed the attempt and earned the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title as part of the tenth annual Apizza Feast ("Ah-beetz Feast"), surpassing the existing pizza party record of 3,357 people set by Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2023. All participants were required to eat at least two slices of pizza. Following this record, Mayor Elicker released the following statement:
"New haven has once again demonstrated its pizza supremacy, and why the Elm City is the pizza capital of the country and the world.
With 4,525 pizza party participants, the love for pizza and New Haven was literally palpable and on clear display. It was a magical, one-of-a-kind New Haven night.
New Haven ah-beetz can't be beat!"
