ASPPH congratulates the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Virtual Campus for signing an agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) Academy, WHO's learning center dedicated to providing innovative, quality-assured, and accessible learning solutions for health and care workers, decision-makers, and WHO staff worldwide. This collaboration, which marks a significant step in strengthening global public health education and capacity building, was celebrated during a recent webinar, where Dr. Laura MagaƱa, ASPPH President and CEO, shared insights on the long-standing partnership between ASPPH and PAHO.
Over the past several years, ASPPH has worked closely with PAHO on various initiatives aimed at bolstering public health education across the Americas. A notable example of this partnership is the development of an introductory epidemiology course tailored specifically for health systems in the region. This course has been instrumental in equipping public health professionals with foundational knowledge to better address the unique health challenges faced in the Americas.
The collaboration between PAHO and the WHO Academy further underscores the importance of a well-trained and adaptable public health workforce. ASPPH looks forward to continuing its partnership with PAHO and contributing to efforts that promote excellence in public health education and practice.
