GWSB Professor Appointed to Project Management Institute Academic Insight Team

Young Hoon Kwak, an associate professor in the Department of Decision Sciences at the GW School of Business, has been selected to join the Academic Insight Team (AIT) at the Project Management Institute (PMI). His term will run until December 2027. The AIT provides expert guidance and recommendations for PMI's academic initiatives, including research, awards and educational programs.

Kwak's research focuses on project and program management, project control, and engineering and technology management. He has a particular interest in the construction, infrastructure and built environment sectors. He is a four-time recipient of research grants sponsored by PMI, a three-time recipient of the IBM Center for The Business of Government's research stipend and a multi-year recipient of the Construction Industry Institute's research grant.
