Downtown lane closures planned for Bell County Annex construction

KILLEEN, Texas (Aug. 11, 2025) - The City of Killeen announces lane modifications on multiple downtown streets in connection with construction of the new Bell County Annex, starting Tuesday, Aug. 12.

The following street sections will be reduced to two 10-foot lanes for the duration of the Bell County Annex construction project:

• North Gray Street from East Ave A to East Ave B
• North 4th Street from East Ave A to East Ave B
• East Avenue A from North Gray Street to North 4th Street
• East Avenue B from North Gray Street to North 4th Street

The lane modifications will be in effect 24 hours a day, including overnight and weekends. These modifications are subject to change with notice and approval as the project progresses.

Construction personnel and equipment will need to enter the roadway to complete work in this area. The contractor will have traffic guided around the work zone.

Motorists should anticipate delays and are asked to use caution and obey all traffic control devices while traveling through the area.
