WASHINGTON, D.C., 4/21/2026 - Today the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) remembers the remarkable legacy of Bennett Glazer, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Glazer's, Inc., and Executive Vice Chairman of Southern Glazer's. A third-generation leader of his family business, Bennett's legacy will be intertwined with the history of our industry.
Bennett's contributions to the WSWA and the broader beverage distribution landscape are immeasurable. He was a recipient of the WSWA Lifetime Leadership Award in 2006 and served on the WSWA Board of Directors from 2011 to 2021, as well as on the Communications and Membership Committee during the same years. His dedication to advancing our industry and fostering community among its members was evident in all his endeavors.
Throughout his distinguished career, Bennett achieved remarkable milestones:
Honors and Recognition: In 2024, he was inducted into the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame at the University of Texas at Austin, acknowledging his profound impact and contributions to the business world.
Bennett was not only a leader but also a mentor who inspired countless individuals in the industry. His insights into brand building and the importance of relationships were foundational to his success. He once said, "The bigger the footprint you have, the more important you are in the industry." This perspective encapsulated his strategic thinking and commitment to growth.
"Bennett was a formidable force in our industry, and his legacy of leadership and excellence will continue to inspire us all," said Cutter Smith, Co-President of Eder-Goodman and Chairman of WSWA.
"His commitment to the industry was unwavering, and his accomplishments speak volumes about his dedication and tenacity," said WSWA President and CEO Francis Creighton.
Our thoughts are with Bennett's family, friends, and colleagues as we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual who made an indelible mark on the spirits industry.
