Weekly Road Construction Update - April 12 to April 18

Projects Administered by Deschutes County

South Century Drive/Huntington Road Intersection Improvement (La Pine Area) - Crews will be doing excavation, grading and concrete work.

Traffic Information - Huntington Road will be closed to all traffic at the intersection of South Century Drive from Monday, April 13 through Sunday, April 26. Drivers should use the signed detour route of Vandevert Road, U.S. 97, and State Recreation Road for the duration of the closure.

Along with the closure, there will be a continuous 24-hour single-lane closure controlled by a temporary traffic signal on the west and north sides of the South Century Drive intersection. Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes and should use caution when navigating the new roundabout.

Tumalo Reservoir Road Improvement (Bend Area) - Crews will be doing excavation work on Tumalo Reservoir Road between Tyler Road and Bailey Road.

Traffic Information - Tumalo Reservoir Road is closed to traffic between Tyler Road and Bailey Road. A signed detour route will be in place for the duration of the closure. Access for local traffic will be maintained.

On other areas of Tumalo Reservoir Road, road users should anticipate single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Projects Administered by Other Agencies

Redmond Wetlands Complex (City of Redmond) - Crews will be doing sewer installation on NW Pershall Way and NW Coyner Avenue.

Traffic Information - Drivers should expect single-lane closures facilitated by a temporary traffic signal on NW Pershall Way. There may be delays of up to 20 minutes.

Bear Creek Road Closure (City of Bend) - Bear Creek Road remains closed to traffic between Dantili Way and the irrigation canal crossing to the east.

Traffic Information - There will be a full road closure with signed detour in place through early April.

Inquiries pertaining to this work should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department website.

U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) - Crews will be working on 11^th Street and C Avenue.

Traffic Information - Lower Bridge Way and Odem Avenue will be open to traffic, allowing only right-in, right-out movements. Traffic bound for U.S. 97 North will continue to use the signed detour route along NW 19^th Street and NW Davidson Way. Be advised: the speed limit on NW 19^th Street is temporarily set at 45 MPH.

11^th Street between A Avenue and the southerly U.S. 97 intersection is closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Signed detour routes are in place.

China Hat Road & FS Road 1815 Closure (US Forest Service) - China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 are both closed at the USFS Boundary for forest thinning.

Traffic Information - China Hat Road and FS Road 1815 are closed to all traffic at the end of County maintenance. Access to the area is closed until further notice.

Other Road Impacts

Cascade Lakes Highway Closure - Cascade Lakes Highway is closed to traffic between Crescent Cutoff Road and Mt. Bachelor for the winter season. The Deschutes County Road Department will aim to remove snow and open Cascade Lakes Highway prior to Memorial Day 2026 (weather dependent).

Paulina Lake Road Closure - Paulina Lake Road is closed to traffic east of the Ten Mile Sno-Park. The Deschutes County Road Department will aim to remove snow and open Paulina Lake Road prior to Memorial Day 2026 (weather dependent).
